IVECO BUS expands its presence in Brazil, contributing to the renewal of the fleet of Expresso Nordeste, a reference company in the Brazilian transport sector based in Campo Mourão (Paraná). The company has in fact taken delivery of 30 units of the IVECO BUS 17-280 Euro VI chassis with bodywork by Mascarello, which will be used in charter applications.
Founded in 1963, Expresso Nordeste connects the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goiás and the Federal District, as well as operating an international route to Paraguay. Now available with FPT Industrial’s N67 engine, compliant with Euro VI emissions standards, the IVECO BUS 17-280 chassis boasts unprecedented efficiency and reliability, providing the highest power in the segment together with extraordinary fuel economy and reduced emissions. Manufactured at the Sete Lagoas industrial complex (Minas Gerais), this IVECO BUS chassis has been designed in such a way as to reduce operating expenses, an aspect much appreciated by customers.
The FPT N67 engine is equipped with Common Rail electronic injection and meets Euro VI requirements thanks to the Hi-eSCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) after-treatment technology patented by FPT Industrial. The 17-280 chassis introduces the concept of downspeeding, whereby the engine runs at low rpm with high torque. The engine produces 280 hp at 2,500 rpm with 950 Nm of torque, in the range between 1,250 rpm and 1,970 rpm with a six-speed ZF gearbox.
