TOKYO. Japan has announced further sanctions against North Korea after the latest missile. The assets of four Russian companies and nine people involved in the country’s nuclear and missile program were frozen. The number of companies and entities thus rises to 60 and the number of people affected by the sanctions imposed by the Tokyo government against North Korea to 71. Among the nine people sanctioned, three are Russian and six North Koreans: some reside in the Russian Federation and are linked to North Korea’s arms development program. Tokyo intends to pressure the country to “seek a solution to these problems”, alluding to the development of weapons and the kidnapping of Japanese citizens decades ago, according to the Japanese government spokesman, Hirokazu Matsuno, in the press conference where they were announced. the new punitive measures, decided a week after Pyongyang’s last ballistic missile launch. The North Korean regime has carried out its longest-range test of the past five years and the one closest to Japanese territory.
