Fumio Kishida said that in the future, the period for reducing and stopping imports will be discussed according to the actual situation.
In addition, Kishida Fumio said that Japan will not withdraw from the oil and gas cooperative development projects “Sakhalin 1” and “Sakhalin 2” with Russia.
In this regard, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroichi Matsuno said at a press conference on the same day that “Sakhalin 1” and “Sakhalin 2” are extremely important to Japan’s stable energy supply. He also said that Japan will use renewable energy and nuclear energy to meet its energy needs.
According to Japan’s Fuji TV report, Kishida Fumio recently made a speech during his visit to the UK, saying that Japan will make use of nuclear reactors with safety guarantees to contribute to reducing the world‘s dependence on Russian energy. Regarding the restart of the nuclear power plant, Fumio Kishida told the media on the 9th that he will take the policy of giving top priority to safety and promoting the restart at the same time.
