China News Service, November 3-According to Kyodo News, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met directly with US President Biden on the 2nd in Glasgow, northern England, for short talks. The two leaders held a telephone conversation on October 5th. This was the first face-to-face conversation between the two leaders.
According to the report, this is Kishida’s first foreign visit since he took office as prime minister in October. He attended the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) summit meeting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and held talks with Biden.
Kishida and Biden confirmed that they would further strengthen the Japan-US alliance, and also agreed to cooperate in responding to regional situations and climate change.
Kishida took a government plane from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on the morning of the 2nd and arrived at Glasgow Airport on the morning of the 2nd local time. He was not staying in the local area, and after staying for a few hours, he embarked on a trip back home.
