Hauge was presented in yellow on Wednesday evening at the Aspmyra stadium in Bodø.

– That’s good. It is a city that I feel comfortable in and that I have stayed in for many years. I look forward to being back for a longer period, he says at the press conference.

There should be talk of Hauge returning to Bodø/Glimt on loan until the 2024 season, but with an option to buy in the future.

– The motivation is great. It is a vengeful “JP” sitting here.

– What do you put in the desire for revenge?

– I think everyone who has followed me in recent years understands what I’m talking about. In recent years, I have lost a bit of what characterized me as a player, and I hope that I can find my way back to that.

When asked if it was easy to decide on a Glimt return, Hauge said that it had been a long process.

– But it didn’t take long before I thought that this was the best sporting project for me.

Hauge says he is looking forward to meeting his good friends in Glimt again.

Håvard Sakariassen is the sports manager in Glimt, and says that there have been a few days of intensive work in recent days to get Hauge home.

– It has been very intensive in recent days. Then I realized the day before yesterday that we were about to find a solution. We are very happy that he is back, he said.

Confirmed bid for Pellegrino

But the news that “JP” had returned to Glimt was not the only news that emerged during Wednesday’s press conference.

Because while Glimt has worked intensively to bring home Håkon Evjen and Hauge, there have been question marks about what will happen to the Eliteserien’s top scorer and point king from last season, Amahl Pellegrino.

The 33-year-old is said to have been interested in a stay abroad on the eve of his career, and now the dream can come true.

Glimt’s sports manager, Håvard Sakariassen, confirmed at the press conference that they had accepted a bid for Pellegrino.

– I can confirm that one hour ago we accepted a bid for Pellegrino.

Several media write that the next stop could be MLS and the club San José Earthquakes in California.

Sixth man returning to Glimt

Hauge will thus become the sixth player to return to Glimt, after leaving the club:

  • Patrick Berg – Returned from Lens in 2022
  • Marius Lode – Returned from Schalke 04 in 2022
  • Fredrik André Bjørkan – Returned from Hertha Berlin in 2022
  • Nikita Haikin – Returned from Bristol City in 2023 without having played a single game
  • Håkon Evjen – Returned from AZ Alkmaar and Brøndby in 2024
  • Jens Petter Hauge – Returned from AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and Gent in 2024

Hauge is a boy from Bodø and has completed his degrees at Glimt’s youth academy.

In the record season in 2020, he played half the season, and distinguished himself by scoring and assisting in the European Cup match against AC Milan.

That meant that the Italian big club shelled out for the winger and signed him on a five-year contract.

After struggling with regular playing time, the trip went on to Germany and Eintracht Frankfurt. First on loan, and then a permanent transfer.

Among other things, he entered the extra rounds of the Europa League final in 2022, and became the first Norwegian to win the tournament.

In August 2022, he was loaned to Belgian Gent for the rest of the season.

After the return to Frankfurt, playing time has been limited. Then came the rumors that Bodø/Glimt was working to bring the former hero back.
