NOVE MESTO (Dagbladet): Johannes Thingnes Bø was the best again. As so many times in the past, he went fastest in the track and delivered on the stand.

He thus secured his 19th WC gold. Now he only has one up to Ole Einar Bjørndalen.

– That’s very good. It’s starting to dawn on me that it’s not just a WC gold, but a very good race that makes me win. It’s really cool, says Thingnes Bø to Dagbladet.

With 19 out of 20 hits, the 30-year-old won by almost a minute to second man, older brother Tarjei. German Benedikt Doll was third.

For Tarjei, Wednesday’s race was revenge. After 6th place in the sprint and 5th place in the pursuit start, he was annoyed. Johannes noticed it on his older brother.

– There are some things that have to take the time it takes. Tarjei is one of the liveliest people we have on tour, but even he limits himself a bit. On Tuesday he was back. Tonight, he is probably the one who laughs the loudest at the dinner table, says Johannes about Tarjei.

– Everyone will be shocked

The silver winner admits that he was disappointed after the sprint and the chase start.

– Were you more annoyed than you expressed after the start of the hunt?

– I think I expressed it. I wasn’t the happiest person in Nove Mesto on Monday and Tuesday, but you have to be allowed to be a little angry and be a little vindictive. I made it through those phases. First you have to be disappointed, finish whining and then I’ve used the last 24 hours to build myself up. I did it. There is something cool about a revenge, says Bø to Dagbladet.

Although he had a smile on his face, it could seem that Tarjei was a little annoyed with Sebastian Samuelsson after the start of the chase:

Earlier in the championship wrote VG that Thingnes Bø had cheated Tarjei out of victory ten times. Now ten has become eleven. Johannes apologizes.

– It’s probably annoying. We were one and two on the normal program in Anterselva, then I was first. We were number one and two on the podium in the WC last year, and I was first then as well. I’m not so kind to him, I’m a bad brother, smiles Thingnes Bø.

Tarjei says:

– You can’t do much with him. There are many uniques in sport, and he is one of them. He’s a bit in the way.

– Many people say that it has been a long time since I won gold, but today I am actually running a gold race. When you have people like him, you just have to accept that it is a battle for the silver medal, he continues.

  • Thursday at 18.05 it is ready for the pairs relay. For Norway, Thingnes Bø and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold go. You can watch the exercise on TV 2.
