The 24-year-old was thus some distance away from a new best record this season. Opseth has a 4th place as the season’s best from Lillehammer at the beginning of December.

Austrian Jacqueline Seifriedsberger won ahead of Japanese Sara Takanashi and German Katharina Schmid.

Opseth had a lot to make up for after a first jump of 117.5 metres, where she got her butt in the snow before the fall line. With poor style grades, she was number eleven before the final.

– It’s terribly bumpy throughout the run-in. I think it would have been easier to land if I had jumped 150 meters and had landed, because it is quite bumpy up there, Opseth told Viaplay before the final round.

– It is clumsily done, she added.

In her second jump, Opseth landed the longest jump of the day at 130.5 metres, and she climbed with it to 6th place.

It wasn’t a great day for Thea Minyan Bjørseth either, who finished in 12th place. The 20-year-old landed 108 meters in his first attempt, but followed up with 120.5 meters in better conditions. She thus climbed six places from the first round.

Opseth was clearly the best in Friday’s prologue when she landed at 149 metres. Nika Kriznar from Slovenia was second, a whopping 15.9 points behind Opseth in the German big hill.

There were only 34 athletes at the start, and therefore an ordinary qualification was issued. There are two individual races in Willingen on both the women’s and men’s side.
