Klopp’s contract with Liverpool will only end in June 2026. However, the German coach admitted that he was ‘running out of energy’ to continue coaching Liverpool.

“How do I say it, running out of energy. I don’t have a problem now, of course, I already know that I have to announce it someday, but I’m fine at the moment. I know I can’t do that job again and again and again and again,” said Klopp.

Klopp said he deliberately announced his departure from Liverpool in the middle of this season so that the Reds management had time to plan changes to the coaching team.

“I’ve been telling the club since last November. I have to explain a little bit that maybe from the outside my job looks like being on the sidelines and in training sessions, things like this. But most of the things happen around these kinds of things. That’s meaning when the season is going on and you are already planning for the next season,” said Klopp.

“As we sat talking about potential signings, next summer training camps and whether we could go anywhere, the thought came up, ‘I’m not sure I can be here anymore’ and I was surprised by that myself. I definitely started thinking about [untuk pergi],” said Klopp.
