Kristine Stavås Skistad won the World Cup sprint in Drammen – Dagsavisen

It happened in an exciting final where Skistad had saved their money and showed monster power on the uphill towards the finish line. She won by 0.63 seconds and took her fourth World Cup win of the season.

– There is no better way to do it than to beat Linn Svahn on the run, said TV 2 expert Petter Northug.

With 2nd place, Svahn secured the overall victory in the sprint cup ahead of Skistad. The Swede also has the opportunity to win the entire World Cup overall, but the American Jessie Diggins leads and is the favorite before the end in Falun.

Rosie Brennan was third in the final, while Johanna Hagström, Nadine Fähndrich and Frida Karlsson followed.

There was a sprint duel between Julie Myhre and Anna Svendsen in the quarter-finals, but both advanced as Emma Ribom was disqualified after crossing the finish line first in the heat. The Swede received his second yellow card this season.

– It feels sour. I feel strong today, so it’s sad. I don’t understand the jury’s decision. I have received no explanation, but they have asked me to come back after the competition to look at the pictures. It doesn’t feel fair, Ribom told TV 2.

In the semi-finals, both Myhre and Svendsen were knocked out, but both achieved their best position in the World Cup this season anyway.

Hedda Østberg Amundsen and Malin Hoelsveen were knocked out in the quarter-final heat with, among others, Svahn and Frida Karlsson. Mathilde Myhrvold, Maria Hartz Melling, Ane Appelkvist Stenseth and Tiril Udnes Weng suffered the same fate in the quarter-finals.
