Krishtova pointed out that during the year of work of the new convocation of the Council of Ministers, a huge step forward was made on BiH’s European path, and that convocation adopted more than 1,400 different materials in 57 sessions, of which as many as 13 proposed laws, all in order to fulfill the eight plus one condition from the recommendations, i.e. 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission.

“During the previous year, for the first time, Bosnia and Herzegovina had 100% compliance with the EU’s foreign and security policy,” said Krishtova in her address at the 54th World Economic Forum in Davos, as well as during the special session “Diplomatic Dialogue on the Western Balkans”.

She expressed her personal disappointment that such progress of BiH institutions was not recognized and rewarded in December with the opening of membership negotiations, which would further tie BiH to the EU, the Council of Ministers announced.

“This missed opportunity left a visible mark on the work of the coalition of parties within BiH at all levels of government, which made the work of the Council of Ministers itself difficult,” said Krištova.

Krishtova also expressed her belief that the work will continue at the same tireless pace, because everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina is aware that the necessary reforms are needed by everyone.

She assessed that the upcoming visit of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and the Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, represents a positive step towards strengthening European cooperation.

“I expect an urgent opening of negotiations for Bosnia and Herzegovina as well“, said Krishtova.

Krishtova expressed her belief that the future of BiH and the region depends solely on maintaining dialogue, encouraging cooperation and finding sustainable solutions.

“The key to BiH’s success lies in the continuous cooperation of all the constituent nations, their legitimate representatives and relevant political actors,” said Krištova.
