On Wednesday morning there were reports that a prominent Norwegian footballer had been involved in an accident on the E6 in Lillestrøm municipality.
The driver is said to have driven into a roadblock, and the car was badly damaged after the incident.
– The driver is on his feet and does not appear to be injured, but is being taken to hospital due to high energy, stated operations manager Terje Marstad in the East police district to Romerikes Blad on the night of Wednesday.
The identity was withheld from the media for a long time, but published on Wednesday afternoon Yorkshire Evening Post that it is Leeds goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson who was involved in the accident.
The newspaper must have been confirmed by the club itself.
Nettavisen has tried to get in touch with Klaesson’s agent, Mike Kjølø, without success.
Sisteskansen came to Leeds in the summer of 2021, on a four-year contract from Vålerenga, and has been at the club since.
