La Equidad and Atlético Nacional faced each other for the green duel on the ninth round of the League. A meeting reflected by the sporting and institutional crisis that the Antioquia team is experiencing, after last week, the team confirmed the resignation of Jhon Bodmer.
Both teams came to this match with different results due to the local tournament. The insurers had just beaten América 1-0 at Pascual. While the Medellín team fell in their last match 2-3 against Deportivo Cali.
The match started in a positive way for the visiting team, after Nacional came out looking for the goal quickly in the first minutes. However, the purslanes did not count on the performances of Washington Ortega, who was firm between the three sticks.
While Nacional tried to find the goal, the local team would take advantage and would be the team that would go ahead in the match, after 18 minutes of the first half, Equidad’s forward, Kevin Viveros, took advantage of a serious error by Bernardo Espinosa, and placed the annotation in El Campín.
Although Nacional was already down on the scoreboard, Juan Camilo Pérez’s team continued to insist on leveling things up. However, the ball did not enter. This after Dorlan Pabón tried from mid-distance in the 46th minute, without luck for the captain of the purslane team.
Things got worse for Atlético Nacional, after Kevin Viveros scored again for Equidad. In the 68th minute the striker received a long pass, and scored with his left foot the purslane goalkeeper’s right hand post.
Finally there was this compromise between insurers and purslanes, where the people of Bogotá increased the crisis of the Medellín team. With this result, those led by Alexis García achieved their third consecutive victory, obtaining 17 points in the second box. While Atlético Nacional remains at the bottom of the table, finishing 15th with 8 points.
