Last Epoch: Create a loot filter – so you’ll never waste time with useless items again

What would an action role-playing game be without loot? Of course, even in Last Epoch, after a good amount of carnage, the entire floor is quickly plastered with objects. Then it’s tedious to look at all the items individually and pick out the few that are useful. Last Epoch has a solution to this problem: the loot filter.

Below we will show you how the loot filter in Last Epoch works, what exactly you can set and how you can quickly build an effective beginners filter:

Loot filter: what is it?

With a loot filter you decide which items the game shows you and which not. A fully automated pre-selection, so to speak.

For example, you can only display unique items or those with certain resistances. This keeps your game screen clearer and saves you a lot of time and nerves hunting for suitable items.

What setting options are there?

The easiest way to use the loot filter in Last Epoch is to use it SHIFT-F on. The filter offers a wealth of setting options. There is three basic rules:

Show – Affected items will be displayed to you

Hide – Affected items are hidden

Recolor – Affected item labels are displayed in a specific color

To determine which items your rules should apply to, select one or more of the six conditions out of:

Affix – The item should have these affixes

Class requirement – The item should be for this character class

Level – The item should meet this minimum character level requirement

rarity – The item should have this rarity

Item type – This is the type of item it should be (e.g. helmet)

Nothing – No conditions are applied to the rule

Especially when it comes to affix conditions, you can make further detailed settings, such as number or minimum rank. Also combine different conditions together to build even more specific filters. For example, you only want to display rare two-handed staves with additional spell damage of at least rank 4 with a pink item label? No problem!

Use word search to quickly find the affixes relevant to you when configuring the rules.

The most important settings for beginners

To make it easier for you to get started, we have summarized six important rules for beginners. This will help you quickly build an effective loot filter:

Hide all items (Rule: Hide; Condition: Nothing). The starting point for each loot filter in Last Epoch. Nothing is displayed.

Show items to extract affixes (Rule: Show/Recolor; Condition: Affix). We select all affixes that are interesting for our build. These items are only there to extract the shards from them via crafting.

View items for my build (Rule: Show/Recolor; Condition: Affix; With at least 2 affixes). We choose the same affixes as in rule 2.

Show idols (Rule: Show/Recolor; Condition: Item Type = Idols). At the beginning we select all kinds of idols.

View all Exalted, Unique, and Set items (Rule: Show/Recolor; Condition: Rarity = Exalted, Unique, Set). It’s always worth taking a look at these items at the beginning.

Show items with rank 6 and 7 affixes (Rule: Show/Recolor; Condition: Affix = Nothing; Advanced Options – Rank: More or Equal = 6). Affixes can only be crafted up to rank 5. That is why such finds are particularly valuable.

Important: If you create the rules in the order listed, they will immediately have the correct hierarchy. Rule 1 should end up at the bottom of the list and Rule 6 at the top.

By the way: If you want to see all the items, simply hold down the X button to turn off the filter.

This is what the finished loot filter looks like in the game. In order for everything to work correctly, the correct order of the individual rules is crucial.

Adjustments for further gameplay

Make improvements as soon as you notice that too many or irrelevant items are being displayed. To do this, adjust the conditions, especially in rules 2 and 3. For example, increases the minimum rank and the minimum number of affixes or adds additional conditions to a rule.

Finally, if you want to share your perfect loot filter with friends or don’t feel like creating your own at all, you can use the import and export functions at any time.
