Lazar Stefanović finally woke up the sleeper UCLA. After a series of four losses, the team from Los Angeles overcame Washington 73:61 with 22 points from the Turkish center Adema Hello, but the best individual of the team was the Serbian playmaker. The former Partizan junior is now in his third season at UCLA and seems to have gained a key role in the team.
Along with 15 points in this match, he added as many as seven rebounds, 3 steals and one assist, and as the season progresses, he gets better. He plays 35 minutes on average and seems that he could be in the NBA draft after this and the next season.
In the first two NCAA season, he averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2 assists, shot an average of 33 percent from three, and scored a record 26 points for Stanford last February. He was a member of the Serbian U19 team at the 2021 World Cup and played with Partizan in the 2020 Euroleague junior tournament, when he averaged 15.7 points with 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Stefanovic had a more complete game, adding 7 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals and a block to his 15 points. Great defense on passing lanes and always looking to attack with the ball in his hands. Went 2-3 from 3 as wellpic.twitter.com/1GpSlcgQV1
