edisiana.com – Leeds United beat Ipswich after drawing against Sunderland 0-0 on Tuesday. Even though they have the same points, Daniel Farke’s team sits in second place.

This means that automatically if you can maintain it until the end of the season you will be entitled to promotion to the Premier League next season.

The hosts are unbeaten at Elland Road this season. They scored 44 goals in 20 home games. But failed to unlock the Wearsiders.

Daniel Farke’s side were slow in their play at times and were unable to create their usual chances.

Sunderland, who have won just one of their last 10 games, beat Leeds earlier in the season at the Stadium of Light. Now they were able to hinder the Whites’ defense again.

There was a hope of penalties in both halves. First when Dan Ballard leaned his elbow towards Crysencio Summerville’s effort from the edge of the box.

When Sunderland captain Luke O’Nien crossed for his second goal. However, referee Tim Robinson considered that it was not a violation.

Meanwhile league leaders Leicester’s defeat to Millwall gave Leeds fans encouragement.

But Ipswich can replace them in second place if they pick up a point or more against Watford later tonight.

Currently Leicester is at the top of the Championship standings with 88 points. Meanwhile, Leeds and Ipswich both have 87 points. The three are still fighting for Premier League tickets.(mag)
