– Sounded like the freight train under the house! writes Anne Grethe Aalandslid (44), who lives in Voss, in a message to VG at 04.26.
On the phone, Aalandslid says that she was woken up by the earthquake.
– I didn’t understand anything. There was a terribly loud noise and the house shook. Then it was just as if the goods train disappeared further, she says.
Strength of 3.3: – Not unusual
The earthquake, which struck at 04:21, is located at Mjølfjell, which is east of Raundalen in Voss municipality in Vestland county.
This is what Berit Marie Storheim, who is a senior engineer at the Department of Geosciences, tells NTB.

The strength is calculated at 3.3.
– 3.3 is a small earthquake in the world context. In Norway, it is not unusual for earthquakes of magnitude 3.3. We have quite a few tremors in this force in Norway, she says. and clarifies that people have no reason to be anxious.
Aalandslid in Voss says that she has also experienced earthquakes in the past, but that this felt more violent than before.
– This was the most powerful thing I have ever experienced, I think.

VG has also received messages from people in Bergen who say they felt the quake.
– Shaken well in my block here in Bergen, says 29-year-old Simon Nystad.
In Dale in Vaksdal, Mona Vinsrygg (47) also had an abrupt start to the day.
– The whole house shook. It sounded as if the whole side of the mountain fell down by the house here, she writes in a message to VG.
No damage to people or buildings has been reported as a result of the earthquake.
West police district tells VG that they have not received any inquiries about the earthquake.
