DEATH VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – Much of the western United States prepares for further record-breaking temperatures in the coming days. More than 31 million people live in areas where the hot emergency alert has been launched. It is the third heat wave hitting the region this summer. In Death Valley, California, temperatures hit 54.4 degrees Celsius on both Friday and Saturday last week and are expected to reach the same high on Sunday.
