LOCAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT Provision signed which allocates over 4 billion to the Regions – Companies

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, in collaboration with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, signed the provision which assigns an advance of 80% of the resources intended for the financing of local public transport, including railway services, to the Regions with ordinary statute. The total advance amount amounts to 4,123,064,270 euros.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will be responsible for the distribution of these resources to the Regions, following the table attached to the ministerial decree. The disbursement will take place on a monthly basis until the entire amount foreseen is paid in full.

This provision represents an important step forward in the financing of local public transport, guaranteeing the Regions the resources necessary to ensure an efficient and sustainable service for citizens. The anticipation of resources will allow the Regions to better plan and manage their transport services, thus contributing to improving mobility and the quality of life in urban and extra-urban areas.
