Trafalgar Square in London has been evacuated due to a suspicious object and the Metropolitan Police have warned not to go to the area for now. Sky News reports it, while the celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee continue in the British capital. The police have promised updates but on social networks there is talk of the controlled explosion of an object, carried out by the agents.
According to what was reported to the Mirror by an eyewitness there is talk of a “strong outbreak” which occurred “without warning” but there are still no confirmations on the matter. “We were told it was a suspicious package, but it wasn’t a controlled explosion, no one told us it was going to explode. The policeman looked shocked, ”she explained. Westminster police on Twitter said the “incident” is over and the square will soon be reopened. Several checks have been carried out in the area, which is a short distance from where a concert will be held as part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth’s reign.
