There is a first suspect in the investigation by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office relating to the death of the Italian ambassador Luca Attanasio and the carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci, killed in Congo on February 22 last. This is a World Food Program (WFP) official accused of failing to take precautions in relation to the murder of the two Italians. The suspect, a Congolese citizen, was responsible for the security of the convoy on which Attanasio and Iacovacci traveled. The registration, carried out by the prosecutor Michele Prestipino and the substitute Sergio Colaiocco, took place after the hearing of the official.
