The event dedicated to entertainment culture arrives
in its 19th edition
Ludicomix starts its engines and is preparing to celebrate its 19th edition which will be held on 11 and 12 May in the streets of the historic center of Empoli.
It has now become a consolidated and eagerly awaited event on the Empoli event calendar and the fact that it has reached its nineteenth edition gives an idea of how it has become, over the years, not only a fair of everyone’s imaginable imagination, but a real party for enthusiasts and the curious.
An event that has grown in terms of attendance year after year, gathering fans and tourists, gamers and cosplayers in the streets of the center and the places of greatest interest in Empoli.
The upcoming weekend, as usual, will be full of appointments, meetings, shows and contests in pure Ludicomix style.
This year the doors of the multiple universe will be opened in front of Empoli station, in Piazza Don Minzoni, with an event with a strong symbolic value dedicated to travellers: both those from the many worlds of the imagination and those forced to travel from our world, fleeing from its difficulties. An event
conceived and organized with the Hugo project, the Virgilio high school and the Accademia delle
Fine Arts of Florence and in some way dedicated to those who cross the square in front of the station every day. Continuing along Via Roma you will then arrive at the main stage of the event, Piazza della Vittoria, where freely accessible events will alternate for two days. Among the most anticipated on the program is also the concert of the well-known cover band “Miwa and its members” who have reached 25 years of activity. The much-loved Cosplay competition certainly cannot be missed, but there will be many other events that will take place on the stage in Piazza della Vittoria.
There will also be some ticketed areas, which will be the beating heart of the event and the passions of the visitors. For the occasion, the Mariambini Park will once again be transformed into the Fantasy Park which will host all the realities
associations and the most colorful events of the event. A novelty will await visitors in the cloister that connects the park to Piazza Guido Guerra: this will be the place where the Illustration Exhibition of the Collettivo delle Vanvere will be set up, one of the flagships of the two-day event, which will include installations, exhibitions and the illustrator market. Also in this place, at the end of the events, the celebrations will continue with the party organized in collaboration with Birrercole.
At Palaexpo, the place where it all began 19 years ago, there will be events and meetings with authors and cartoonists. Also here will be concentrated workshops, playrooms, photoshoots, and a new Flying Donkey Tavern: a space entirely dedicated to role-playing games, to celebrate 50 years of D&D. The building was and remains one of the nerve centers of the activities for Ludicomix and an unmissable stop for enthusiasts.
Also for this edition the spaces of the Augustinian Cloister will be exploited, theater of the latest and most reckless creation, that is, a University Conference on dissemination through new forms of language and
modern media. Here, thanks to Edutainment and Social and the universities of Pisa, Urbino and Florence, they will take turns on stage throughout the weekend,
professors and content creators from all over Italy who will tell how it changes, yes
integrates and contaminates the world of education and entertainment.
