Macron after the electoral earthquake: “National unity impossible, restart from compromises”

PARIS – “Compromises will have to be built”. Emmanuel Macron speaks to the French a few days after the political earthquake caused by the laws. “I cannot ignore the fractures, the deep divisions that cross our country and are reflected in the result”. Without an absolute majority to govern, with as many as 45 deputies missing, Macron stresses that he has two paths ahead: a coalition contract, as is done in other EU countries, or finding variable majorities for each bill.
