PAVIA

A bronze medal and many placings for the Cus Pavia athletes, engaged on Lake Corgeno (in the Varese municipality of Vergiate), for the Italian championships in the junior, senior and light weight rowing categories.

The best result of the team led by sporting director Andrea Re was the third place conquered by the double lightweights composed of Andrea Grassini and Andrea Cardinali, behind the professionals of the Carabinieri sports group and the crew of Canottieri Bissolati Cremona. The two cussinis fought until the end, winning a well-deserved third step of the podium.

Altogether there were ten crews competing in Corgeno with the colors of Cus Pavia, for a total of 14 athletes.

Matteo Mulas, Tommaso Molinari and Davide Iacuitti were involved in the men’s single lightweight specialty, all looking for the pass to the final, conquered however by only Matteo Mulas, who then finished in seventh position. Sixth place in the absolute single for Francesco Molinari. In the junior single Tito Christoforakis, after winning the qualifying battery, stopped in the semifinals, missing the qualification for just under 9 tenths of a second.

Still as regards the single, in the absolute senior female category Beatrice Crevani concluded with a very important fourth position, also because it was conquered in progression. Two Cussini crews who were not involved in the two without senior: Nicolò Pucci with Philipp Gautsch and Simone Fusaro with Andrea Grasselli, who finished respectively in sixth and eighth place.
