Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of infections is equal to 30,960 while the deaths are 420. The increase in infections in recent days mainly concerns students who participate in English courses: for this reason the intention to suspend these courses starting next July 14th. Meanwhile, the Italian embassy is following the cases in which Italian students are involved. As a note informs, the staff of the diplomatic office, “compatibly with health restrictions, is going to the facilities where the largest groups of compatriots are hosted, to ensure that the treatment meets the standards agreed upon at the time of purchase. of the package. According to the Maltese Ministry of Health, there are currently 9 outbreaks in as many English-language schools ”. According to the text of the embassy, ​​”given the difficulty of predicting the further course of the pandemic, further restrictions on travel to / from the Maltese islands are conceivable in the future”.
