When the police arrived at the scene shortly after midnight, they found a man who was believed to be either very badly injured or dead. Attempts to save life were initiated without success, and the man was declared dead.
The deceased man’s partner was at the scene. She has since been granted witness status and has been questioned. What she has said, the police do not want to go into. It is not suspected that she was involved in the murder.

It was an acquaintance of the accused who notified the police about the incident. The police then sought out the residential address of the accused, who was then arrested on the spot.
– It is information from the informant about a possible perpetrator that led us to look up the residential address of the accused, says police attorney Vibeke Stolp Ekeland to NTB.

According to police inspector Henning Klauseie in the Innlandet police district, the woman is connected to the act.
– The accused woman will be questioned during Sunday afternoon, says Ekeland.
The woman will be produced for remand on Monday. The prosecution will request that the woman be jailed for four weeks with a ban on letters and visits, as well as isolation for two weeks.
Lawyer Frode Aabak has been appointed as the woman’s defender. Just after 3 p.m., he cannot say anything about how the woman stands up to the murder charge.

Have a relationship
The police confirm that there is a relationship between the deceased and the accused. Ekeland tells NTB that it is neither a partner relationship nor a family relationship, and calls the relationship an “acquaintance”.
What is the background to the incident is currently unclear. The police also have no idea about a motive yet.

An opinion on the cause of death
The police inspector says that the police have seized an object which they believe was used in the act, but Klauseie does not want to comment on this in any more detail for the sake of the investigation.
The police have an idea of what the cause of death is, but do not want to comment on it as the final autopsy report will be ready next week.
The man’s relatives have been notified.
