Beaten this weekend in the league, Manchester United hoped to regain confidence in the Cup against Nottingham Forest and thus preserve their chances of winning a title at the end of the season. Lacking lucidity in front of the opposing goal, like Antony’s shot on the opposing crossbar at the start of the match, the Mancunians were held back by the Reds for a long time. We had to wait until the end of the game to see Casemiro deliver his own. Watching for a free kick from Bruno Fernandes, the Brazilian midfielder deflected the ball enough with his head to deceive Matt Turner (0-1, 89th) and offer the Red Devils qualification.
