Shocking news was conveyed by Indonesian national team midfielder Marc Klok. After Indonesia won over Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Marc Klok announced he would leave the Garuda squad.

Indonesia vs Vietnam was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Thursday (21/3) evening. In that match, Indonesia won 1-0 thanks to Egy Maulana Vikri’s single goal.

After the match, Klok conveyed the news that he would leave his friends on the national team. Klok conveyed the news in an upload on his personal Instagram story, Friday (22/3/2024).

In his upload, Klok revealed the reason for leaving the Garuda squad. Klok did this to undergo treatment and recovery from the injuries he experienced.

“Hi everyone, wanted to give you the latest news about my condition. I left the national team today to undergo treatment in Singapore for my injury,” said Klok as seen detikJabar.

It is known that Klok has been suffering from an Achilles tendon injury for a long time. In the Indonesia vs Vietnam match last night, Shin Tae-yong also didn’t play Klok. Klok even had to take painkillers while strengthening Persib Bandung in the last few matches.

Because of this, Klok decided not to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the next match against Vietnam next week. He chose to recover so he could help Persib win the title.

“I have been playing with a lot of pain for a while, and with a busy and important schedule ahead it is time to take care of matters now to be 100 percent ready for Persib and the final,” he explained.
