Marc Marquez occupies pole position in the Spanish MotoGP

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Gresini Racing racer Marc Marquez continued his impressive performance in the 2024 Spanish MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit by winning pole position after recording a time of 1 minute 46.773 seconds.

This is Marquez’s first pole position since the 2023 Portuguese MotoGP at the Portimao Circuit at the end of March last year as well as his first pole position with Ducati.

This is also the 65th pole for The Baby Alien in MotoGP or the 93rd time in the premier class.

“Yes, very happy, especially because this is the first pole position with Gresini. A long time ago at the Portimao GP in my opinion,” said Marquez on the MotoGP website on Saturday.

“So we need to stay focused. The schedule is busy because now you are happy but at the same time you are serious about focusing on the Sprint race. However, starting from pole position, the target is to immediately finish on the podium,” he added.

The fourth position was occupied by the racer who had been thrown to 20th position in FP1, Brad Binder.

Bezzecchi’s colleague, Fabio Di Giannantonio, who was impressive in practice session 2 (FP2) by finishing second, continued his good performance in the qualifying session by starting in fifth position.
