It is only an embryonic bill which, however, comes from the government and which should be presented next week: Spain could become the first Western country to grant women several days a month of “menstrual leave” from their workplace. The initiative would introduce the possibility to take advantage of at least three days of sick leave in the case of severe menstrual pain (essential condition) and the period of absence could even be five days.
