Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff fires back against Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff in the dispute over Max Verstappen

Mintzlaff told Bild am Sonntag that Wolff should refrain from public expressions of interest from Mercedes in signing Verstappen. “It also has something to do with respect when I keep talking about other teams’ personnel. That’s not appropriate,” said Mintzlaff.

“I understand the pressure that Toto Wolff and perhaps other teams have after years of being behind. But I think that Toto Wolff should concentrate on his challenges. He has had enough of that.” The Red Bull CEO emphasized that Verstappen would “1,000 percent” continue to drive for Red Bull next year.

Wolff countered this after the race at the Grand Prix in Miami with the words: “1,000 percent, I wouldn’t make a statement like that, because in life there is only one hundred percent. There is no more than one hundred percent. Superfluous,” he said Austrians on the Sky microphone.

Wolff later even added to the ORF: “I don’t know what the guy wants. Maybe he wants to be in the newspaper, or they (Red Bull; editor) told him to say that. “
