Inter Miami had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the former club Lionel Messi Newell’s Old Boys in a trial match at DRV PNK Stadium, Florida, Friday (16/2).

The Inter Miami vs Newell’s Old Boy duel was interesting from the early minutes. Both teams produced dangerous opportunities in the first half.

Inter Miami coach Tata Martino fielded Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as starters. The collaboration between the two presented a dangerous threat.

Suarez had one of the best chances midway through the first half. Suarez tried to catch Messi’s through ball but his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Lucas Hoyos who performed brilliantly.

Inter Miami almost doubled their lead in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, Campana’s left footed shot in the penalty box was blocked by Hoyos.

Three minutes later, Newell’s Old Boys managed to score a goal back. Franco Diaz was able to take advantage of a back line error before successfully hitting the ball into Miami’s goal.
