Again no win – Liverpool only 2-2 at West Ham

Liverpool can’t quite get up to speed in the end of the season. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s team had to be content with a 2-2 (0-1) draw at West Ham United on Saturday at the start of the 35th round of the English Premier League. The “Reds” managed to turn around a 0-1 half-time deficit with a goal from Andy Robertson (48th) and an own goal from West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola (65th). But Michail Antonio (77th) secured a point for the “Hammers”.

Jarrod Bowen initially gave the hosts the lead with his 20th goal of the season in his 200th game for West Ham (43rd). Liverpool remains third in the table with 75 points behind leaders Arsenal (77) and Manchester City (76), but has played one game more than the Londoners and even two more than City.

Klopp then realized that Liverpool’s chances of winning the league title were extremely slim. “Our situation hasn’t improved massively. It doesn’t look like Arsenal and Manchester City will lose two or three more games,” explained the German, who had a heated discussion with his star player when Mohamed Salah was substituted on.

A little later, coach Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace drew 1-1 at Fulham and are still 14th. Sixth-placed Manchester United only managed a 1-1 home draw against penultimate Burnley, while bottom-placed Sheffield United are first after losing 5-1 in Newcastle Club relegated straight away.
