Launched in 2021, the “Michelin in Motion” 2030 strategy is a crucial element of the Michelin Group’s “All Sustainable” approach, which is based on the balance between People, Profit and Planet.
In this framework, Michelin’s mission to improve the mobility of its customers is based on three fundamental pillars: tyres, research and development of high-tech materials, and the development of services and solutions for mobility. The birth of the new Group company, Michelin Connected Fleet, fits into this vision.
Michelin Connected Fleet aims to collaborate with transporters to support them in their activities, responding to 5 main needs: improving operating margins through cost control, fuel savings and route optimization; increase safety by promoting the professionalism and specialization of drivers and ensuring accurate maintenance of vehicles to reduce accidents; manage the load, both empty and full, and temperatures; make on-time deliveries to increase productivity; improve vehicle and cargo security through traceability and reducing the risk of theft; and ultimately improve the operational efficiency, safety and sustainability of fleets.
To meet these needs, Michelin Connected Fleet is based on three pillars: connection technologies, which allow the acquisition of all the data associated with the mobility of a vehicle; data analysis and dedicated support from expert staff, which differentiate Michelin Connected Fleet thanks to the experience accumulated in over 25 years in fleet management. The processing and transformation of data into action plans, together with daily customer support, offer a global management service.
With its arrival in Italy, MICHELIN Connected Fleet operates in 17 countries, with a portfolio of 50,000 customers making approximately 300 million trips per year between Europe, North America and South America. MICHELIN Connected Fleet solutions are designed to provide essential tools and information to operators and fleet managers on a daily basis to manage their fleets easily and with maximum efficiency.
