Missing Vanessa Huber: Husband found dead in apartment in Unterhaching – Munich

A 40-year-old man was found dead in an apartment in Unterhaching on Friday. The police confirmed an operation and a deceased person, the apartment owner. According to information from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the dead man is the husband of Vanessa Huber, who has been missing since November 2022. No information has yet been given about the cause of death, but according to police there is currently no evidence of external influence. There was a smell of decay in the house and the deceased’s mailbox was overflowing. An autopsy of the body will now provide more precise information.

According to police, the apartment was opened around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. There were no obvious external injuries on the body. The autopsy will now clarify how long the man had been dead and how he died. Traces were secured in the apartment, the nature of which the police have not provided any information about – but they are not only intended to provide information about the death, the police are also hoping for further information about Vanessa Huber’s disappearance. That’s why not only the police death investigators are involved in the investigation, but also officers from the homicide squad.

The police still believe that the missing Vanessa Huber was the victim of a violent crime. Her husband was considered a suspect for some time, but the investigation came to nothing.

Vanessa Huber has been missing since November 5, 2022. When she disappeared, she didn’t take her passport, money or cell phone with her; her car and bicycle were in the garage. The then 39-year-old was last seen that day, in a supermarket on Münchner Straße in Unterhaching with her husband. There is a video recording of the purchase. The couple then allegedly went home together and got into an argument, whereupon Vanessa Huber left the apartment between 5 and 6 p.m., according to her husband. Two days later he reported his wife missing to the police.

In the days after the disappearance, the police in Unterhaching searched forests and bodies of water; drones and divers, as well as horse and dog teams, were also in action. But the search didn’t bring any information to the police. In January 2023, the case was also reported on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY unsolved”. In September, ten months after the disappearance, 120 officers searched the Perlacher Forest again with corpse-sniffing dogs – also without success.
