On June 29, local time, vaccine manufacturer Modena announced a research report that showed that the company’s new crown vaccine can produce neutralizing antibodies against new mutant viruses including Delta mutations. In addition, research data also shows that the antibodies produced by the vaccine are more effective against the delta variant than against the Beta variant, which was first discovered in Africa.
Although the study did not directly determine how effective the Modena vaccine is against delta variants, it can prove that the neutralizing antibodies it produces are sufficient for prevention.
On June 29, India included Modena’s new crown vaccine on the country’s emergency use list to increase the country’s vaccination efforts. On the same day, Modena’s stock hit a record high in intraday trading, with a maximum increase of nearly 7%. As of the close of the day, the stock rose more than 5%.
The delta mutant virus was first discovered in India. At present, the virus has spread to at least 92 countries around the world, and it may become the major new coronavirus mutant worldwide.
