Molejo says that Anderson Leonardo remains in serious condition and criticizes rumors about the singer’s death

The group Molejo released a note on their social networks in which they inform that the health condition of vocalist Anderson Leonardo remains serious. The artist was hospitalized again last Sunday (24) for treatment for inguinal cancer.

In the post, the band also criticized rumors circulated on the internet about the singer’s death. “His condition is serious, but he is alive and continues to be under medical care and monitoring. We ask everyone to continue in prayers”, says the text.

Anderson is 51 years old and since 2022 has been undergoing treatment for inguinal cancer, a rare type of tumor that affects the entire groin region. He had been hospitalized at the end of February and was discharged on March 19th. Last Sunday, however, he had to return to the hospital.

In September last year, Anderson had to be hospitalized due to a pulmonary embolism. The artist ended up staying in the Intensive Therapy Center (CTI) and was discharged days later.

Symptoms of inguinal cancer

The manifestation of symptoms of cancer in the inguinal region may depend on different factors, as explained by doctor Breno Gusmão, oncohematologist at BP: “If the primary tumor is producing symptoms; if there are localized symptoms, due to the growth of the tumor in the inguinal region, which can cause local pain; neuropathy and thrombosis of local veins”, he explains.

Generally, the symptoms that can be observed when a tumor affects the inguinal region are:

  • Lump in the inguinal region;
  • Dor local;
  • Bleeding from the nodule and secondary infections;
  • General symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite and unwarranted weight loss.
