Now it’s official: a monument dedicated to the memory of Vajont will be built in Legnano. In this sense, the relationship of collaboration and friendship between the president of the Survivors Committee, Micaela Coletti, and the Legnano entrepreneur Giuseppe Calini is decisive. Who announced publicly and officially that «the monument will rise in the gardens of Piazza Vittorio Veneto, next to the Carducci school».
«Solidarity has no distance – Calini himself declared -. Legnano and Longarone will remain forever united by an embrace that comes from the heart.” Returning to the work, it will be a concrete wall, the same material used for the dam. And it represents the past: the water descends and delicately, like the passage of time, weakens the pain that has been, that is.
