More ugly falls in Planica: – Looks like something very, very scary

The first round of the team competition in Planica was marked by three ugly falls.

Decker Dean, Giovanni Bresadola and Timi Zajc (pictured) all went down after their long soars on the ski-flying slope.

The latter fell after jumping a full 242.5 metres.

– This is starting to look like something that is very, very scary. This is the third fall in the competition, said Viaplay commentator Petter Tenstad after Zajc’s fall, according to NTB.

Strong and unstable wind meant that the jury did not consider it prudent to drive through two laps in Slovenia. Thus, the result list from the first round became the final one.

Norway thus finished in third place after the first round behind Austria and Slovenia.

Zajc was supported away from the escape run, but was later carried off the ground on a stretcher.
