Last Holy Thursday, March 28, in the municipality of Dosquebradas, Risaralda, authorities made a gruesome discovery in a home. The lifeless bodies of two women were found, who had not been seen since Tuesday, March 26.

The women, identified as Luz Elena Melan Gaviria, 55, and her daughter Katerine Gonzáles Melán, 29, were found in a high degree of decomposition in separate rooms in their house. Luz Elena was a housewife while Katerine worked as a nurse.

Police reported to El Tiempo that no signs of violence were observed on the bodies during a visual inspection. However, toxicology tests are still pending to determine the cause of death, with poisoning being a possible theory.
