MSI has released new drivers and an updated BIOS for its MSI Claw portable console, delivering very significant performance gains. In Cyberpunk 2077, the jump was 58%, going from 35 FPS to 56 FPS; while in 7 Days to Die the gain was 150%.

The recently launched console is the first gaming platform to use the new APUs Intel Core Ultrabut chose to bring the more modest chips Ultra 7 155Heven with the 165H model also featuring a TDP of 30 W.
Although the choice appears to be related to reducing the console’s manufacturing cost to remain competitive, the result in some games is putting the MSI Claw in the same performance range as ROG Ally with non-Extreme Z1which costs almost half the price.
Promising optimizations
On the other hand, seeing that a simple updating drivers and BIOS already able to deliver such significant performance gains is excellent news. The scenario sets a precedent for future updates to make better use of the technologies of the new architecture Intelsuggesting good potential scalability of performance in the medium term.
