Cuba Records Multiple Accident on Road to José Martí International Airport

A multiple accident was recorded this Tuesday afternoon on the road to the José Martí International Airport in Havana. Preliminary reports that reach social networks indicate that the incident left no deaths or injuries.
“Accident on the road between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of the José Martí airport in Havana,” they said from Elizabeth Ferrer’s profile, without offering more details. “Multiple accident on the airport road from which I could see material damage and people still inside the Moskvitch, I don’t know if there are injuries, gentlemen, gentlemen; wet pavement,” said Internet user Iris Liz Gordon.
More than 700 people lost their lives as a result of traffic accidents in Cuba during 2023. The regime insists that despite the fact that there was a 13% reduction in the number of accidents and a 7% reduction in the number of injuries compared to the previous year. However, 729 people died in that period, according to Colonel Roberto Rodríguez, head of the Specialized Traffic Body of the General Directorate of the National Revolutionary Police.
Rodríguez pointed out that the human factor is responsible for 91% of the accidents, highlighting that “60% of the accidents, 48% of the deaths and 66% of the injuries were caused by not paying attention to controlling the vehicle and not respecting the right of way.”
Likewise, excessive speed contributed to 12% of the fatalities, while the poor technical condition of some vehicles represented 10% of the victims.
