Bottom team Frosinone brought home one point from a visit to the headquarters of defending Italian League champions Napoli after drawing 2-2 in the Italian League match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Naples, Sunday.
The draw has not lifted Frosinone from the bottom of the table. They are still in 18th position, now with 27 points. Meanwhile, the Partenopei are stuck in eighth position with 49 points, according to the official Italian League page.
Host Napoli attacked from the start. Victor Osimhen fired a shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass which was pushed over by goalkeeper Stefano Turati, while Leo Ostigard’s shot from close range still went up.

Napoli got the fruit of their hard work in the 16th minute. Matteo Politano scored a beautiful goal when he cut in from the right to curl a left-footed shot from the edge of the box. 1-0 to Napoli.
Not long after, Frosinone was awarded a penalty after Amir Rrahmani fouled Walid Cheddira in the forbidden box. However, Matias Soule’s execution failed to produce a return goal, as his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Alex Meret. The 1-0 lead for the hosts lasted until halftime.
Napoli kicked off again at the start of the second half. Osimhen fired a chipped kick which was blocked by goalkeeper Turati, before the ball was secured by Simone Romagnoli.

However, Frosinone was able to equalize in the 50th minute. Soule stole the ball from goalkeeper Meret and fed it to Cheddira who easily put it into the empty net.
Napoli restored their one goal lead in the 63rd minute. From a corner kick situation, the ball was passed to Kvaratskhelia’s shot which was then deflected and became bait for Osimhen to hit.
Napoli’s lead did not last long. Frosinone equalized again in the 73rd minute when Cheddira completed his brace by utilizing a cross from the right. The position changed again to 2-2.

In the final phase of the match, Giovanni Di Lorenzo sent a pass to substitute Giovanni Simone, who failed to catch it. Napoli defender Mario Rui had to leave the field early in the 98th minute, after he was shown a second yellow card for his foul on Demba Seck. (Ant/Z-7)
