NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg met with U.S. President Biden, Vice President Harris, and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in Washington on June 2. Speaking afterwards, Stoltenberg believed that the Russian-Ukrainian war would end at the negotiating table.
According to CNN, Stoltenberg said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine to deter NATO has resulted in more countries joining NATO.
When asked if the Russian-Ukrainian war had entered its final stage, Stoltenberg said that the war is inherently unpredictable and must be prepared for a long time. The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has turned into a war of attrition, Ukraine People paid a heavy price for their country, and Russia suffered a lot of casualties.
Stoltenberg revealed that they also discussed preparations for a NATO summit in Madrid in late June, when Biden would be welcomed to Spain.
