Campbell withdrew from the filming of “Scream 6” last year due to a salary dispute.

But now she is on the field again.

«Sidney Prescott returns», writes the star Instagram – and adds that she is excited.

«It has always been incredibly fun and an honor to play Sidney in the “Scream” films», she explains.

The 50-year-old had his big breakthrough in the very first “Scream” film in 1996.

Expressed dissatisfaction

When she dropped out of number six in 2022, she explained that she was not happy with the conditions that were put to her.

– As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard throughout my career to have my value recognized, especially when it comes to “Scream”, she stated.

The Canadian actress was open that she felt the fee she was offered did not match what she has brought to the “Scream” universe.

– It has been a very difficult decision to leave, she admitted at the time.

What the film company has looked up to get her back is unknown.

The creator of “Scream”, Kevin Williamson (58), takes over as director of the upcoming film. He has written the script for the first three films in the series.

«Almost 30 years have passed since my very first “Scream” script was directed by the legendary Wes Craven, and I never imagined how it would end», he says about the horror success – also on Instagram.

Williamson adds that he is “overwhelmed with gratitude” and that he can hardly wait to embark on the new journey with Campbell and the others.

Guy Busick (49), who wrote the script for the last two films together with James Vanderbilt (48), takes over as screenwriter. Vanderbilt continues as producer.
