This week at the cinema, new perspectives are opening up: While a team of brothers is hoping for a big win to save the family business, a traditional restaurant is preparing for the patriarch’s pension. A paramedic sees the world with new eyes after an accident – now she can even see into the future!
Nominated six times for the Swiss Film Prize
“Bisons” tells the story of Steve and Joël, two brothers who haven’t seen each other for three years. When Joël, who has just been released from prison, comes home, the atmosphere is tense. Her father has just died and owed a neighbor several thousand francs. In order to save the family farm, Joël suggests that his younger brother take part in illegal fights.
Drugs, social insecurity… Director Pierre Monnard repeatedly contradicts the postcard idyll of Switzerland in his films. With a set design as stark and unpolished as its subject matter, Bisons offers audiences a form of raw authenticity, taking them to the heart of its subject matter, which resonates even more strongly in light of current events.

A detailed insight into the star cuisine
For three generations, the Troisgros family has maintained its good reputation and the prestige of its restaurant in France, near Lyon. For the Troisgros, gastronomy is a family tradition. But the years pass and the descendants of 65-year-old Michel Troisgros are ready to accept his inheritance.
For four hours, the documentary captures fleeting moments in the kitchen and gardens of the Troisgros family, observing their secrets, their moods, the tastes and the protagonists who emerge from the events. The family reveals itself in an intimate film that is at the same time a kind of homage, self-reflection and distancing, while the time has soon come for Michel Troisgros to give up the apron.

The origin story of the clairvoyant superheroine
Cassandra Webb is a paramedic who suffers a traumatic accident at work one day. Since then she has been able to predict the future and change it. Soon she is the only hope of three teenage girls who are being hunted by Ezekiel Sims so that they cannot fulfill their true destiny.
“Madame Web”, staged by the director S.J. Clarkson, shows the world of superheroes with a more realistic approach, with less skin-tight costumes and more real feelings. “Madame Web” delivers good action and a look at some relatively unknown Marvel characters who definitely deserve this attention.
