The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are facing international criticism after at least 118 Palestinians were killed in Gaza City last week. The IDF has denied shooting at an aid convoy, claiming they fired at “several suspects” who approached nearby forces.

According to a witness, many of the victims were run over by trucks in the chaos that ensued, leading to what is now being called the “flour massacre.” Eyewitnesses, including local journalist Khader Al Za’anoun, have stated that the chaos began when Israeli troops opened fire.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported over 700 people wounded in the incident, with at least 118 people killed. The United Nations confirmed that most of the wounded had gunshot wounds, but did not examine the bodies to confirm the cause of death.

The IDF insisted that their troops fired precautionary shots to distance the suspects who were posing a threat. However, the exact circumstances of the incident remain disputed, with CNN unable to independently verify the IDF’s conclusions.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from the international community, with many calling for a full investigation into the deadly attack on the aid convoy in Gaza City.
