According to the official measurement of China Earthquake Networks, at 4:10 on December 21, Beijing time (12:10 on December 20, local time), a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred off the coast of California, USA, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers and an epicenter located at north latitude. 40.35 degrees, 124.65 degrees West longitude.
According to the US Geological Survey, earthquakes were felt in many places including San Francisco. The earthquake occurred near Humboldt County. Emergency personnel in the county are currently assessing the damage, but no casualties have been reported.
