Arsenal took home 3 points from the visit to Nottingham Forest. Had a dead end, goal Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka in the second half won them 2-1.
Arsenal visited the City Ground, Wednesday (31/1/2024) early morning WIB, in the continuation of the Premier League. Forest’s tight low defense made it difficult for Mikel Arteta’s troops to create opportunities and were held back in the first half.
Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 65th minute through Gabriel Jesus’ action. This goal became the momentum that opened the match, resulting in Arsenal’s second goal from Bukayo Saka in the 72nd minute.

The hosts responded in the 89th minute through Taiwo Awoniyi. The 2-1 score did not change again, bringing Arsenal to second place in the Premier League standings past Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Forest is still in 16th position with 20 points.
The Course of the Match
Arsenal took the initiative while Forest played low block defense. Martin Odegaard fired an attempt in the 13th minute but was blocked by Danilo.
Arsenal tried again, this time from Emile Smith Rowe in the 30th minute. His effort still deviated to the right of the goal.
Forest targeted Arsenal with a quick attack in the 41st minute. Danilo’s kick still just bounced over the goal.
Opportunity for Arsenal three minutes later. Oleksandr Zinchenko’s cross sparked chaos and Bukayo Saka grabbed the loose ball.
Murillo deflected his shot into the side of the goal. There were no goals until the first half ended.
Opportunity for Arsenal in the 53rd minute! Martin Odegaard’s pass was struck by Saka and the ball hit a Forest player. Matt Turner swiftly parried the ball.
Almost! Arsenal almost took the lead in the 57th minute. Odegaard was keen to see Gabriel Jesus free on the right side in the penalty box. It’s just that Jesus’ kick hit the goalpost!
GOAL! Arsenal took the lead in the 65th minute. Jesus received a throw-in on the left and then pushed forward. His shot from a tight angle went into goalkeeper Matt Turner’s legs.
GOAL! Arsenal doubled their lead in the 72nd minute. Odegaard cut off Forest’s pass in the middle then passed to Jesus on the left. Jesus sent a cross to Saka on the right, who finished with a low kick into the bottom left corner.
Eddie Nketiah got a gap in the 83rd minute. His shot was still blocked by the Forest defender.
Forest scored a goal back in the 89th minute. Gonzalo Montiel’s header from the right fell to Taiwo Awoniyi, who won the duel with William Lintasa. He then poked the ball into the goal.
Forest tried to equalize the score in the remaining time. No other goals were scored.
