The Course of the Match
Liverpool tried to control the game after kickoff. But it was Forest who threatened first through Divock Origi, who narrowly deviated to the left of goal in the 15th minute.

Liverpool threatened back two minutes later. Andrew Omobamidele’s low shot was deflected and ended up just to the left of the goal.
Forest almost took the lead in the 23rd minute. Anthony Elanga escaped and was left to face Caoimhin Kelleher, but his shot was blocked with his foot by the Liverpool goalkeeper.
Liverpool responded through Bobby Clark’s experiment. His curling shot just sailed narrowly over the top right corner of Forest’s goal.
Another opportunity from Liverpool in the 27th minute. Clark’s shot was blocked and the ball rolled to Luis Diaz in front of the goal. Diaz’s kick was blocked by Murillo who threw his body into the path of the ball.
The match was tough, the score did not change until halftime.
