Recently, fans got an update when Lionsgate confirmed pre-production for the film had begun during CinemaCon. Additionally, they confirmed which stars will be reprising their roles, and which new actors will be joining.
The first film premiered in 2013 and captivated the audience with its story and big twists. Following a group of illusionists called the Four Horsemen, the group uses their magic tricks to pull off a series of heists to right some wrongs.
A follow-up film was released three years later in 2016, following the Four Horsemen after they are exposed by the enemy, and discover the true secret behind a secret society called the Eye, which consists of the most skilled magicians.

Who’s returning for Now You See Me 3?
According to The Hollywood Reporteroriginal cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco are expected to reprise their roles as the Four Horsemen.
Fisher did not reprise his original role in the 2016 sequel; instead, Lizzy Caplan’s character joins the Four Horsemen group in his place. It’s unclear if Mean Girls alum Caplan will reprise her role as Lula May in the third film.
Various outlets have reported that Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman will reprise their characters in the film, but nothing has been confirmed. It’s also unclear whether Jay Chou, who appeared in the second film, will return.
Chou was previously attached to a spin-off film announced in 2016, which was said to be shot in China. However, there has been no further development regarding the project.
